#there was so much life in the sagebrush beyond the striped clay hills#a cacophony of insects#hidden rabbits#fleeting magpies#intense green around where the river pooled on its way through#the desert is beautiful#and I say this after being baked from above and below#hiking back through those clay hills during the peak heat of the day#foxtails digging for the tender flesh of my feet#I still cherish that time and those memories#also pronghorns are weirdly loaf shaped tell me I'm wrong
